Rossford council rejects nonunion pay increase
Rossford City Council last night rejected an ordinance that would have increased the compensation of nonunion city employees by 2 percent.
The measure failed 4-3. Council members Molly Jakubec, Ken Hermes, Larry Oberdorf, Sr., and Rick Kovach voted no.
Under the ordinance, the police chief's salary would have increased to $55,474; the fire chief's to $52, 506; the parks and recreations director's to $46,826; the public works department superintendent's to $49,157, and the finance director's to $46,728.
Council members who objected to the pay raises cited budgetary reasons for voting against the measure.
