OEPA sets July 7 hearing on Henry County permit

BOWLING GREEN The Ohio Environmental Public Agency will conduct a public hearing next week on a request to modify the wastewater discharge permit for a mobile home park in Henry County.

The meeting about the River Bend Mobile Home Park on State Rt. 65 is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 7 at the EPA s northwest district office, 347 North Dunbridge Rd., Bowling Green.

The wastewater plant can treat 5,000 gallons of sewage each day from the mobile home park.

The owner of the mobile home park, Robert W. Maurer of Bowling Green, has applied to modify the facility s current wastewater discharge permit. If approved, the discharge into the Maumee River would be allowed to contain more total suspended solids, which are small particles of solid pollutants that remain after treatment.

The EPA will accept written comments on the application through July 14. They can be mailed to the EPA s Division of Surface Water, Attention: Permits Processing Unit, PO Box 1049, Columbus, Ohio 43216-1049.
