Reynolds Rd. cycle crash kills Perrysburg woman

A Perrysburg woman died and a Toledo man was hospitalized after a motorcycle accident on South Reynolds Road near the Ohio Turnpike early yesterday morning.

Michele Wiechman was pronounced dead at Medical College of Ohio Hospitals after the 1:15 a.m. accident.

Ms. Wiechman suffered severe head injuries as a passenger on a motorcycle that police said was operated by Kirk Kazmarek of 2616 Scottwood Ave. They were going south on Reynolds when they struck a concrete median and then a steel pole, according to witnesses.

Police said Mr. Kazmarek sustained severe injuries as well and was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said Mr. Kazmarek was in serious condition last night.

Police said neither was wearing a helmet. The accident remained under investigation late yesterday.
