Genoa: Village buys field for $80,000

Village Council bought Bergman Field from Genoa Area Local Schools for $80,000 last week.

Council members decided to purchase the former football field when it became available, although there are no plans for the field as of yet. The Genoa Comets football team will play games on a new field next to the high school on Genoa-Clay Center Road.

Finanace Director Charles Brinkman said the field will be purchased through four yearly installments of $20,000.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to help athletic boosters finance the $300,000 cost of the new football stadium.
