Collision kills 2, hurts 2 near Upper Sandusky

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio - Two people were killed and two others were injured when two cars collided head-on on Wyandot County Road 47 north of here Monday night.

Richard R. Cupp, Jr., 25, of Upper Sandusky died at the scene. Brandie L. King, 18, of Upper Sandusky was later pronounced dead in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

Michael G. Branham, 39, of Delphos was in critical condition in St. Vincent's, where a passenger in his car, Jennifer Altenburger, 29, of Delphos, was in fair condition yesterday.

According to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, Mr. Branham was westbound on County Road 47 west of State Rt. 53 about 11:20 p.m., when he apparently went left of center and hit an eastbound vehicle driven by Ms. King. Mr. Cupp was a passenger in Ms. King's car.
