Ship traffic returned to normal on the Maumee River yesterday after electrical repairs were completed to the CSX railroad swing bridge, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
An electrical power surge shut down operation of the bridge about 8 p.m. Sunday, preventing it from opening for ships entering and leaving some dock facilities.
Repairs were completed about 1 p.m. yesterday, allowing the bridge to open for two freighters later in the afternoon.
