FOSTORIA - Sheriff's deputies from Wood, Hancock, and Seneca counties plan to step up traffic enforcement in and around Fostoria during the holidays.
With a grant from the state and the Hancock County Community Partnership, deputies will be on the lookout for drunken drivers, speeders, and those violating seat-belt and right-of-way laws on Dec. 22 and Dec. 30.
The three sheriff's offices have been helping Fostoria with traffic enforcement since August. The city has been operating with a reduced number of patrol officers because of financial problems.
Much of Fostoria is in Seneca County. Parts dip into Hancock and Wood counties.
