Ohio EPA hearing planned on treatment plant
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will host a public information session and hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday to take comments on an application for a wastewater discharge permit for the Lucas County Maumee River wastewater treatment plant, 5758 North River Rd., Waterville.
The meeting will be in Village Council chambers, 25 North Second St. Ohio EPA officials will provide information about the project, and the public can submit oral and written comments.
The county has applied for a permit to increase the plant's capacity by 7.5 million gallons daily. The plant has a capacity of 15 million gallons a day now. The discharged water goes into the Maumee River after treatment.
