LIMA, Ohio - Mayor David Berger filed petitions with the Allen County Board of Elections seeking an unprecedented fifth term as mayor of Lima.
Mr. Berger, who was first elected in 1989, said he hopes to serve another four years as mayor so that he can see a number of economic development projects through to completion.
So far, no one else has filed nominating petitions to run for mayor, although the filing deadline is Wednesday.
Prior to Mr. Berger, the longest-serving mayor was Harry Moyer, who was in office for three terms.
