Teen breaks foot in crash

An Anthony Wayne High School student was hurt yesterday in a head-on collision on Eber Road near Weckerly Road in Waterville Township, authorities said.

Melinda Wesolowski, 17, of Monclova Township, driver of one of the vehicles, broke her foot, township police Chief Bonnie Hearndon said.

The other driver, Constance Rieger, 51, of Monclova Township, suffered minor bruises.

Miss Wesolowski was rounding a curve on Eber about 9:30 a.m. when her car went left of center and collided with Ms. Rieger's SUV, the chief said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and the air bags in both vehicles deployed. "It was a heavy impact," Chief Hearndon said. "There was extensive front-end damage to both vehicles."
