2-car crash in Erie County kills Bloomville teen
CASTALIA, Ohio - A Seneca County teenager died yesterday about five hours after a two-vehicle collision on State Rt. 101, just northeast of Bardshar Road in Erie County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Amanda M. Martin, 18, of Bloomville, driver of one of the vehicles, died at 3:17 a.m. in Medical College of Ohio Hospitals in Toledo, troopers at the patrol's Sandusky post said.
The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Ms. Martin was northbound on Route 101 about 10 p.m. Wednesday when her car strayed off the road.
She overcorrected to the left and lost control of the car, which went sideways into the southbound lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Megan L. Morando, 19, of Castalia.
Ms. Morando and one of her passengers, Matthew P. James, 20, also of Castalia, were taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo with nonlife-threatening injuries. Passenger Lisa L. Dunham, 39, of Castalia refused treatment at the scene.
The other two passengers, Carlee Dunham, 8, of Castalia and Justus Adams, 3, of Huron Ohio, were treated at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, troopers said.
