HILLSDALE, Mich. - An investigation continues into the death of a 7-year-old girl who was struck by a vehicle Friday evening in front of her Allen Township home.
Brittany Munsell was crossing West Bacon Road at about 5:14 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle, according to troopers at the Michigan State Police Jonesville post.
Troopers declined to name the driver of the vehicle, but said she is a Reading Township woman. The accident occurred several miles west of Hillsdale.
Brittany was taken to Hillsdale Community Health Center, where she died.
Troopers said Brittany had just left her grandmother's house with her sister and was headed to her house across the street.
She had crossed West Bacon when she unexpectedly turned and headed back across the street, at which point she was struck by the vehicle, troopers said.
