Bowling Green reading program to recognize 4 people

BOWLING GREEN - Four of the city's "most valuable players'' will be recognized this afternoon at the Cla-Zel Theater as part of the annual Community Reads recognition program.

This spring, residents were asked to read W.P. Kinsella's book Shoeless Joe and to nominate individuals who were instrumental in helping others realize their dreams.

Being recognized are Tim Dunn, who works with the BG Pee Wee baseball league; George Offenburg, principal at the soon-to-close South Main Elementary School; Judy Roth, who also works at South Main Elementary, and Scott Regan, who helped found the Treehouse Troupe and Horizon Youth Theatre.

The recognition ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. followed by a free showing of Field of Dreams, a film based on the book Shoeless Joe.
