SANDUSKY Residents will be able to learn details of proposed improvements to a 4 -mile stretch of U.S. 250 during an open house Wednesday in Sandusky.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is sponsoring the session, which is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Great Wolf Lodge, 4600 Milan Rd. (U.S. 250).

Brian Stacy, a spokesman for ODOT s District 3 office in Ashland, said ODOT officials and representatives from a pair of consulting firms, Mannik & Smith, of Maumee, and the Stilson Consulting Group, of Columbus, will present a preferred alternative set of improvements at 4:30 and 6 p.m.

Mannik & Smith has recommended making up to $11 million in improvements to the heavily traveled highway.

Plans include upgrading nine intersections between Bogart Road and U.S. 6; improving traffic signals, and combining business driveways to reduce the number of access points.
