Hamler woman dies in State Rt. 65 crash

DESHLER, Ohio - A Hamler, Ohio, woman was killed yesterday when the pickup she was driving veered into a ditch and overturned on State Rt. 65 north of Henry County Road G in Richfield Township, authorities said.

Jacqueline Maynard, 41, who was thrown from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zander Geren, two months old, a passenger in the truck, was taken to Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, for treatment.

The relationship between Ms. Maynard and the child was not clear, Henry County sheriff's deputies said.

Ms. Maynard was driving northbound about 5 a.m. when her truck rolled into the ditch on the left side of Route 65, struck a culvert, and overturned before coming to rest on its wheels. The child was in a child safety seat in the rear seat of the truck, but it was unknown whether Ms. Maynard was wearing a seat belt, deputies said.
