OAK HARBOR, Ohio A 16-year-old Salem Township boy was hurt yesterday when an all-terrain vehicle he was driving went into a ditch and overturned in a field about two miles south of here, the Ottawa County Sheriff s Office said.
Nicholas Klacik, of Elmore Eastern Road, was admitted in serious condition in Medical College of Ohio Hospitals, a nursing supervisor said.
Young Klacik was driving south on the west side of Wood-rick Road just south of Hetrick Road about 4:30 p.m. when the ATV went into the ditch that runs east to west in the field, which is in Salem Township, deputies said.
The boy was thrown over the handlebars of the 2002 Honda ATV and landed on the south side of the ditch, where a Good Samaritan found him and transported him to the boy s residence, where 911 was called, deputies said.
