Walbridge council hires new village police chief

Walbridge Village Council voted unanimously Wednesday night to hire a North Baltimore, Ohio, man as its new police chief.

Donald Hendren, the North Baltimore police chief in the mid-1980s who also is a former North Baltimore mayor, is a teacher at Penta Career Center.

Mr. Hendren, also a former Ohio Highway Patrol trooper, was hired, in part, because of his background in training police officers. His part-time hourly pay will be between $20 and $21 an hour.
