During an organizational meeting on Friday, Barry Van Hoozen was elected president of the Perrysburg Board of Education, and Walt Edinger was elected vice president.
Gretchen Downs and Mark Schoelein, who were re-elected to the board, and the board s newest member, Val Hovland, were sworn in, Superintendent Michael Cline said.
The meeting in Perrysburg was followed up with a two-day retreat at a downtown Toledo office building. It concluded yesterday morning.
The board heard an update from consultants on some long-term planning efforts, including those pertaining to school facilities, Mr. Cline said.
The board has been debating whether to renovate the Commodore Building or build a middle school. No votes were taken at the retreat, Mr. Cline said.
