BELLEVUE, Ohio A teenager was hospitalized after a head-on crash with an Ohio Department of Transportation snowplow in Erie County yesterday.

Ashley Devon Duldner, 18, of Strongsville, Ohio, was first taken to Bellevue Hospital after the 1:25 p.m. crash, then transported via medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

Officials at St. Vincent s said Ms. Duldner was in serious condition last night.

The teen was heading south on State Rt. 4 about four miles northeast of Bellevue, just south of Strecker Road, when she lost control of her vehicle and it slid across the center line, troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol s Sandusky post said.

A snow plow, driven by Gregg G. Palmer, 53, of Sandusky, unsuccessfully steered off the right side of the road, troopers said.

After the collision, Ms. Duldner s car careened back across the road, coming to a rest in a ditch, while Mr. Palmer s plow was propelled into the ditch on the opposite side of the road.

Mr. Palmer was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
