The Monroe County Lake Erie Muskrat Run debuts on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Sterling State park near Monroe. The Muskrat Run replaces a 5K race that used to be held at the Frenchtown Square Mall (the Lake Erie West Winter Fun Run). The shopping mall parking lot run featured pancakes at the finish. The Muskrat Run starts on Lake Erie at Sterling State Park and traces an asphalt nature trail. The state park will waive the entrance fee to park on the day of the race to combine with Michigan s free fishing day. Run muskrat, run.
The Glass City Marathon is 51 days away.
