Adrian board names Osburn as city attorney

ADRIAN Sarah Osburn was named city attorney Monday night by the Adrian board of commissioners.

Ms. Osburn, a University of Toledo law school graduate, has served four years as assistant city attorney under Dane Nelson.

Mr. Nelson, Adrian s attorney since 1981, was named city administrator last month.

At Mr. Nelson s recommendation, Ms. Osburn will serve in a full-time, staff capacity. He said the city will save $20,000 to $30,000 a year in attorney fees with Ms. Osburn on staff.

Mr. Nelson served in the position on a part-time basis while directing his own law firm, Nelson and Benz. He is in the process of dissolving the firm before assuming his new post.
