LIMA, Ohio - A Cridersville, Ohio, man died Monday in a crash on State Rt. 65, north of Amherst Road in Allen County's Perry Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Jimmy L. Boop, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers at the patrol's Lima post said. A medical examination of Mr. Boop revealed he died as a result of a medical condition, and not injuries sustained in the crash, troopers said.
Mr. Boop was northbound on Route 65 about 10:20 p.m. when the sport utility vehicle he was driving went off the east side of the road, struck several utility poles, and came to rest in a yard, troopers said.
The 2000 Dodge Durango he was driving matched the description and had the same license plate number as one stolen from a home on East Main Street in Cridersville about 20 minutes before the crash, authorities said.
