U.S. 24 crash kills woman, injures her 2 daughters

GRAND RAPIDS A Grand Rapids woman was killed and her two daughters badly injured after her sport utility vehicle was struck head-on by another SUV on U.S. 24 yesterday afternoon, authorities said.

Alice L. Wagner, 44, was pronounced dead at Toledo Hospital, where she was taken by medical helicopter following the 3:40 p.m. crash, according to troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol s Toledo post.

Her daughters, Emily, 14, and Sydney, 12, who were riding in the vehicle, were also flown to Toledo Hospital. Both were in critical condition last night, hospital officials said.

Ms. Wagner was driving west on U.S. 24 near the intersection of Heller Road in Lucas County s Providence Township when an eastbound SUV driven by Steven Bradley, 30, of Toledo, crossed the center line and struck her head-on, troopers said.

Mr. Bradley was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Hospital officials had no information on his condition last night. The crash remains under investigation.
