St. Mary Catholic Church is site for Life Line screen

DEFIANCE Representatives from Life Line Screening of Cleveland will be at St. Mary Catholic Church, 715 Jefferson Ave., tomorrow.

Residents can be screened for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, which can lead to a stroke; aortic aneurysms, which can lead to a ruptured aorta; and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which are a strong predictor of heart disease.

The company is also offering bone-density screening to assess the risk for osteoporosis.

Each screening takes 10 minutes or less to complete. A vascular screening costs $109, and adding the bone density test to the screening brings the total cost to $129.

Preregistration is required, and appointments begin at 9 a.m. For more information, call 1-800-697-9721.
