New Tiffin group studies Civil War

TIFFIN - A new regional group formed to discuss the Civil War has selected the name Johnson's Island Civil War Round Table.

Lecturer Rex Felton, a Civil War student, was chosen acting president of the organization at a meeting Sunday in Tiffin. Mr. Felton, who has traveled to Civil War battle sites nationwide, is on the board of the organization that buys and preserves portions of the Johnson's Island prison site.

Membership is open to residents of Crawford, Erie, Hancock, Huron, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Wood, and Wyandot counties.

The Johnson's Island Civil War Roundtable meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Sunday of each month at T.J. Willie's, 738 West Market St., Tiffin.
