Monroe man killed as car crashes in early morning accident

MONROE - A Monroe man was killed yesterday when his car went off Telegraph Road, north of Ready Road, and hit a ditch embankment in Ash Township, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported.

Thomas Fallon, 46, was airlifted to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ypsilanti, Mich., where he was pronounced dead, deputies said. He was driving south on Telegraph about 2:15 a.m. when his car went off the west side of the road and went airborne, deputies said.

Deputies said speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
