Teen critically injured as car hits utility pole

CLYDE, Ohio A 17-year-old boy was in critical condition after he was involved in a one-car accident in Green Creek Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said yesterday.

Justin Bartson of Green Springs, Ohio, was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after the accident that occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday, troopers said.

He was a passenger in a car driven by Kelsie Overmyer, 17, of Clyde, who was southbound on County Road 260 just south of County Road 229.

Miss Overmyer was not hurt when her car swerved off the road and hit a utility pole. Both youths were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
