SANDUSKY - A 17-year-old Castalia, Ohio, girl who was seriously hurt in a collision Tuesday in Erie County has died from her injuries, the Ohio Highway Patrol said today. Lauren M. Rogers was a passenger in a car that collided with a pickup on U.S. 6 about a half-mile west of Sandusky. Four others were also hurt, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
The accident occurred about 4:25 p.m. Tuesday. Troopers said the car was eastbound on U.S. 6 when the driver lost control on a curve and slid into the westbound lane, where the car was hit by the pickup and struck a pole.
Miss Rogers was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where she died at 5:44 p.m.
