The Friends of the Library will hold the first of three fund-raising book sales benefiting the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library this weekend.
On the Saturdays of the sales, hardcover books, books-on-tape, and videotapes will cost $1, paperbacks and children's hardbound books will cost 50 cents, and magazines and children's paperbacks will cost a quarter.
On Sundays, customers can buy bags for $5 each into which they may stuff as many items as will fit, Rhonda Sewell, a library spokesman, said yesterday.
The sales will be held at 546 Southard Ave., two blocks north of the library's Main branch in downtown Toledo.
Compact discs and other materials will also be for sale.
Public hours will be from noon to 4 p.m. each day. On Saturdays, Friends of the Library members will be allowed in from 9 a.m. until noon.
Along with this weekend, the Friends of the Library sales will be held on April 28-29 and June 2-3.
