Officer injured trying to capture injured feline

FOSTORIA Fostoria police Capt. Jimmie Dieter got into a bit of a cat fight Monday.

Captain Dieter was called to the 100 block of Elm Street after neighbors reported an injured cat in the area. He caught the cat and, despite the fact that he was wearing gloves, was bitten on the hand. The cat escaped; Captain Dieter was treated at Fostoria Community Hospital.

Police said officers returned yesterday morning, trapped the cat in a garage on Elm, and captured it.
