OAK HARBOR, Ohio - A 13-year-old North Carolina boy who was visiting relatives in Ottawa County died yesterday after he was hurt in an all-terrain vehicle crash Tuesday night, authorities said.
Andrew Julian Priddy, of Shallotte, N.C., died in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center about 2 a.m.
When the crash occurred at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Andrew was driving a four-wheeler on an unpaved lane at his grandfather Jesse Priddy's property at 2222 North Leutz Rd. in Carroll Township, Carroll Township police Chief Jody Hatfield said.
Riding behind Andrew on the four-wheeler was a relative, Jeffery Priddy, 22, who refused medical treatment. He was wearing a helmet; Andrew was not, the chief said. The crash remains under investigation.
