Motorist hurt in two-vehicle crash on Ohio Turnpike


FREMONT A motorist was hurt when a tractor-trailer rig and a car pulling a U-Haul trailer collided early this morning in the westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike just east of State Rt. 53 in central Sandusky County about 30 miles southeast of Toledo, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The victim, an occupant of the car whose name and condition were not available, was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital, troopers at the patrol s Milan post said.

The accident occurred about 1 miles north of Fremont in Sandusky Township just after 4 a.m. when the semi hit the U-Haul trailer in the rear. The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.

The troopers said it was unclear if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
