The Downtown Toledo Improvement District Inc. will receive a $50,000 grant from the Lucas County commissioners if it can show it is collaborating with other nonprofit groups in Toledo.
Tina Skeldon Wozniak, president of the Lucas County commissioners, has suggested the nonprofit improvement corporation should receive $25,000 now and the rest of the money later, after it demonstrates attempts to work with other non-profit groups like CitiFest, the Downtown Toledo Parking Authority, and the Design Center.
Ms. Wozniak said the improvement district, which provides cleanup crews, security patrols, and marketing for Toledo, has to show it is being efficient in delivering services.
The commissioners voted 3-0 to accept Ms. Wozniak's suggestion.
