Rossford Marina, others win grants for dredging
COLUMBUS The legislative Ohio Controlling Board yesterday approved the release of $878,229 in grants for the dredging of four waterways connecting with Lake Erie.
Of that, $137,923 was earmarked for the Rossford Marina basin at Veterans Park.
The funds come from the Recreational Harbor Evaluation Program, which provides dredging grants for communities along Lake Erie and the Ohio River.
This project will enable boaters to utilize the Rossford Marina and hopefully increase the number of tourists to the area, state Sen. Randy Gardner (R., Bowling Green) said.
Ohio has been blessed with abundant natural resources, and we must preserve them and do what is necessary to ensure they are around for generations to come.
