Woman, 82, killed in Lenawee County collision

ADRIAN, Mich. A Morenci, Mich. woman was killed and an Adrian teenager was hurt yesterday when two cars collided at Gorman Road and Lyons Highway about five miles southwest of this Lenawee County city, authorities said.

Barbara Johnston, 82, the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene, Madison Township police said.

Brandon Keller, 16, the driver of the other car, was treated at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, officers said.

The accident occurred about 2:55 p.m. in Lenawee County s Madison Township, the Lenawee County Sheriff s Office said.

The Johnston car was struck broadside by the Keller car. Airbags deployed at both vehicles, township police said.

Authorities released no further details this morning, citing an ongoing investigation.

Adrian is about 30 miles northwest of Toledo.
