Forfeited-land sale nets county $40,115

Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez said the county sold $40,115 worth of property yesterday in its final forfeited-land sale of the year.

Ms. Lopez said 75 of the 158 vacant properties were purchased, and the county collected $29,367 up front yesterday.

All of the parcels for sale were tax-delinquent and had been put up for sale twice previously. The properties that didn't sell will be up for sale again next year.

Ms. Lopez said the parcels are sold on behalf of the state and must be offered at public auction annually.
