Crash injures 3 in Paulding County

PAYNE, Ohio - A Haviland, Ohio, man and two children were hurt yesterday when their car went off State Rt. 49, hit a culvert, and went into a ditch, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Terry Williams, 30, was in critical condition in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

A girl in a car seat and another child were taken to Paulding County Hospital. Their names and ages were not available. One was transferred to Parkview's intensive care unit, troopers at the patrol's Van Wert post said.

Mr. Williams was northbound on Route 49 near the Paulding County village of Payne about 6 p.m. when the car went off the road, troopers said.
