Sylvania man killed in crash of motorcycle

A Sylvania man was killed yesterday when his motorcycle crashed into a tree at Glendale Avenue and the Anthony Wayne Trail after leading police on a brief high-speed chase in South Toledo, authorities said.

Brian Lennard, 25, of 6521 Coppersmith Rd. was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Mr. Lennard, who was wearing a helmet, died from multiple injuries to his head, chest, and abdomen, said Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a Lucas County deputy coroner.

He was driving south on the Trail about 2:30 a.m. when he failed to round a turn, went off the right side of the road near Glendale, and crashed into a tree, police said.
