The Ohio Lottery is giving players of the Pick 3 midday and evening drawings a chance for increased winnings this month.
In the promotion called Red Ball, a lottery representative will draw the numbers from the Pick 3 machine.
Immediately after that draw, a separate drawing will be conducted from a machine that contains seven balls: six white and one Red Ball.
If the Red Ball is drawn, the prize payout will increase by approximately 20 percent, the lottery said.
Any time a white ball is drawn, the white ball will be removed from the machine in subsequent draws until the Red Ball is drawn, the lottery explained.
After each Red Ball is drawn, all seven balls are placed back in the machine for the next draw.
The Red Ball will be drawn at least once every seven draws.
The promotion runs through March 1.
