BLISSFIELD - A Toledo man was killed yesterday when his SUV collided head on with a propane truck on U.S. 223, about two miles east of here, Lenawee County sheriff's deputies said.
Michael K. Singh, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene. His address was unavailable.
Witnesses told deputies that Mr. Singh went left of center about 10 a.m. near Lipp Highway and struck the eastbound truck driven by Jeffrey Barrett, 38, of Deckerville, Mich. Mr. Barrett was not hurt.
Mr. Barrett's tanker truck was empty. However, the impact of the crash caused the truck to jackknife, closing both lanes to traffic, deputies said.
Because of problems removing the wreckage, the highway was closed until about 6 last night.
