Monroe County woman, 28, critically hurt in crash

MONROE A Monroe County woman was in critical condition yesterday in Toledo Hospital, a day after a pickup in which she was a passenger crashed into a ditch northwest of Monroe, authorities said.

Tammy Roberts, 28, was flown to the hospital from the crash on Raisinville Road, east of Stewart Road, in Raisinville Township, Monroe County sheriff s deputies said.

The driver, Brett Slack, 35, and another passenger, Charles Russell, 29, both of Monroe County, were treated at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe. Both men wore seat belts; Ms. Roberts did not, deputies said.

Mr. Slack was driving east on Stewart about 11:35 p.m. Saturday when he failed to stop for a stop sign at Raisinville. The pickup slid through the intersection and crashed into the east ditch along Raisinville, deputies said.
