Sandusky County judge applications due Friday

FREMONT The state s Judicial Appointments Recommendations Panel is accepting applications to fill an upcoming vacancy on Sandusky County Common Pleas Court, when Judge James R. Sherck retires this month.

Applicants must be residents and registered voters in Sandusky County and not yet 70 years old on the day they would begin their duties.

They also must be allowed to practice law in Ohio and have maintained their legal license for six years prior to assuming the judicial post or served as a judge of a court of record in any jurisdiction in the United States.

The term will extend until Feb. 9, 2009.

To continue serving beyond that, the appointee would have to run in the November, 2008, judicial election.

Candidates must be available to interview in person on March 21 in Columbus.

Details are available at www.ojarp.org. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday.
