Bond was set at $250,000 during an arraignment Monday morning in Toledo Municipal Court for a man accused of shooting his employee in the neck during an altercation Friday, authorities said. Wardell David Langston, 39, of 1006 Booth Ave., was charged with felonious assault and remains in the Lucas County jail.
St. Paul s Community Center at 230 13th St. in downtown Toledo remained closed Monday morning after it was evacuated for the night late Sunday when residents smelled fumes, suspected a natural gas leak, and called 911, authorities said. Thirteen people were taken to area hospitals, where they were treated for gas inhalation and released, said Chris Kozak, a Columbia Gas spokesman. Their names were not released.
DETROIT Gas prices in Michigan are up 6 cents over the past week. AAA Michigan said Monday the statewide average is $3.43 per gallon. That s 60 cents higher than last year at this time. Of the cities the state auto club surveyed, the cheapest price is in the Detroit and Traverse City areas, where a gallon costs $3.40 per gallon. The highest average can be found in Marquette at $3.49 per gallon.
