Toledo man injured after car overturns, lands on Ottawa Hills lawn

A Toledo man was hurt early Monday when the car he was driving on West Bancroft Street in Ottawa Hills crashed and overturned, authorities said.

Jeffery Allen Kierczak, 20, of 411 Torrington Dr., was treated at Toledo Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

The accident occurred about 3:10 a.m. in the 3900 block of West Bancroft, Ottawa Hills police said.

Authorities believe Mr. Kierczak was westbound on Bancroft when he lost control of the car. The vehicle then went off the road at 3907 West Bancroft, hit a fire hydrant, and overturned at least once before it came to rest on the front lawn at 3919 West Bancroft, officers said.

Mr. Kierczak, who was the only occupant of the car, remained in the vehicle after the crash. He was not trapped.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Charges against Mr. Kierczak were pending the completion of the investigation, officers said.
