DESHLER, Ohio Two people were hurt, at least one of them seriously late Sunday when both of them were thrown off their motorcycle when it struck a deer north of this Henry County community, authorities said.

Wendy Hoops, 38, of Deshler, the passenger, was flown by a medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, according to the Henry County Sheriff s Office. A hospital spokesman said Monday morning that she had no information about a person by that name.

Timothy Grince, 41, also of Deshler, the motorcycle operator, was taken by a ground ambulance to Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, where his condition was also unavailable.

The crash occurred about 11:40 p.m. on Henry County Road 1, a fifth-of-a-mile north of Henry County Road J in Richfield Township.

The 2008 Honda MC was southbound on Road 1 when it struck a deer that had run onto the road, sheriff s deputies said.

Ms. Hoops and Mr. Grince were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, according to a report issued by the sheriff s office.
