$63M construction effort wraps up on King bridge

The $63 million rehabilitation of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge is finished, except for a warranty replacement of some internal machinery, Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner said yesterday.

The mayor was joined by U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo) and state Rep. Peter Ujvagi (D., Toledo), a longtime resident of East Toledo s Birmingham neighborhood, for the announcement.

Mr. Finkbeiner said the remaining work was minor and would not require closing the bridge to traffic.
