Man killed in Wood County ATV crash

CYGNET, Ohio A Findlay man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash late Sunday on the Slippery Elm Bike Trail near this Wood County community, authorities said.

Allen Freeze, 26, the ATV driver, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the Wood County Sheriff s Office.

The crash occurred about 10:40 p.m. between Bays and Jerry City roads in Wood County s Liberty Township about 2 miles northwest of Cygnet, sheriff s deputies said.

Mr. Freeze, who was riding alone, was southbound on the trail when he failed to round a curve in the road. The ATV struck some bushes and trees and overturned, deputies said.

Cygnet is about 25 miles south of Toledo.
