Motorcyclist hurt in Green Springs crash

GREEN SPRINGS, Ohio A 22-year-old man was hurt seriously when the motorcycle he was driving crashed Sunday night in this Sandusky and Seneca counties village, authorities said.

Jared Alloway of Green Springs, who was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle, was airlifted to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, with a serious injury, troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol s Fremont post said.

A hospital spokesman said Monday morning that Mr. Alloway was a patient at the hospital. She refused to release his condition citing patient privacy laws.

Mr. Alloway was westbound on Euclid Street west of Kansas Street about 7:40 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle and drove off the north side of the road. The vehicle then struck a tree, a mailbox, and overturned, troopers said.

The crash remained under investigation. No citations were issued as of Monday morning.

Green Springs is about 40 miles southeast of Toledo.
