Owens security chief in Findlay suspended
FINDLAY The head of security at Owens Community College s Findlay campus was suspended with pay, effective Thursday, accused of
violating the college s sexual harassment policy.
College officials said they will recommend the board of trustees fire Kenneth Scheuerman when it meets Oct. 15.
Your actions on September 3, 2008 [verified by witnesses] demonstrated your inability to exercise supervisory action and control in accordance with the appropriate sexual harassment training that has been afforded to you and also violated the college s policy against sexual harassment, Cynthia Eschenburg, vice president of human resources, wrote in a letter to Mr. Scheuerman dated Wednesday.
Mr. Scheuerman, who was hired by Owens as a security officer at the Toledo campus in January, 1995, was named head of security at the Findlay campus in April, 2005.
His salary is $50,739 a year.
Owens Spokesman Brad Meyer declined to provide specifics of the accusations that led to Mr. Scheuerman s suspension.
