Letter from President Mark C. Gordon Defiance College

Defi ance College is honored to be recognized for our service to the Northwest Ohio community. At Defi ance College, we are particularly proud of our ties with the community and of the ways our community engagement serves both the region and our students.

In addition to providing opportunities for students to apply what they learn in the classroom to the real world, our focus on engagement offers tangible benefi ts for economic development in the region. Our new nursing program (in cooperation with Northwest State Community College) is helping to address a national nursing shortage, while our path-breaking Hench Autism Studies Program provides new opportunities to better integrate Ohioans along the autism spectrum into our community.

The Defiance College digital forensic science program provides training that can strengthen local law enforcement efforts, while our restoration ecology major is just one of many majors that assist in the greening of our region while also potentially offering new advantages for students in the job market.

From our education undergraduate majors and masters program which prepare so many of the region s primary and secondary school teachers and administrators to our business administration and marketing programs which train tomorrow s business leaders; from our athletic programs to our theater and new music programs Defiance College is proud to be providing excellent educational opportunities for our students while also enhancing the economic and cultural life of our community.

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a vital and vibrant region!
